Electronic Travel Authorization

You can get an electronic travel authorization (ETA) instead of a UK visa if you are a national of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates.

An ETA lets you visit the UK for up to 6 months for:

tourism
business
short-term study
visiting family and friends
coming to the UK for a permitted paid engagement
transiting through the UK – including if you’re not going through UK border control

Your ETA lasts for 2 years. You can travel to the UK as many times as you want during that time. Your ETA is linked to the passport you applied with. If you get a new passport, you’ll need to get a new ETA.

You have to make a separate online ETA application for each person travelling, including children.

How to get an ETA

Getting an ETA is not like getting a regular UK visa. You just need to complete the online form and won’t need to visit a visa application centre.

I understand that If my Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) is approved, this approval establishes that I am eligible to travel to the United Kingdom under the Visa Waiver Program but does not guarantee that I am admissible to the United Kingdom. Upon arrival in the United Kingdom, I will be inspected by a United Kingdom Custom's officer at a port of entry who may determine that I am inadmissible under the Visa Waiver Program or for any reason under the law of United Kingdom.

I understand that attempting to obtain an Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) under the United Kingodm's Visa Waiver Program by the willful misrepresentation of a material fact, or fraud, is an offense and may result in the permanent refusal of a Travel Authorization, or adjudicated inadmissibility for entry into the Republic of Korea as well as removal from the Republic of Korea and its territories after entry has been granted based on such willful misrepresentations.
